Murena (comic book)
Murena is Belgian historic comic book written by Jean Dufaux and drawn by Philippe Delaby. The series is set in ancient Rome in the time when Emperor Nero seized power (around 54 B.c). The strip is mainly characterized by its realistic style and the additional historical information. The first volume was published by Dargaud in 1997.
Synopsis
The story begins in ancient Rome during the reign of Emperor Claudius. The Emperor fell in love with a young woman, leaving alone the terrible Agrippina and her adopted son, the future Emperor Nero. After Claude was murdered, Nero ascends the throne and becomes the prey of madness, real or imagined, that consumes him. Through these episodes, we see how Nero, by a combination of circumstances, becomes more and more evil. A game of manipulation and revenge begins...
Characters
Lucius Murena: hero of the series, the patrician son of Loli and friend of Nero. He cannot accept the love that brings the Emperor to his mother.
Britannicus: the son of Claude. Because of its parentage, it blocks the way to the throne to Nero and, thereby, to his mother.
Claudius: Roman emperor, Caesar fifth.
Aggripina: ambitious woman with fatal beauty. She never ceases to recognize his son as the sole heir to the empire.
Nero : young man crushed by the influence of his mother, he first obeys to his mother and be an accomplice of the most terrible acts, but
Balba: former gladiator who wants to take his revenge against Nero.
Massam: a cruel gladiator in the service of Nero.

Ok, na kraju drugog ciklusa, jasno je što je serijal Murena :) Bolji drugi ciklus od prvog, ja bih ovo koristio u gimnazijama da sam profesor istorije kao dodatnu literaturu. Nikad se ne prikaže Stari Rim ovakvim u udžbenicima, iako su jasne naznake da je bio ovakav kakvim je u stripu prikazano. |

Pročitah prvi ciklus. Dobar strip, nije da sam oduševljen, ali daleko je od dosadnog.Nema ovdje nikakvih epskih bitki, samo prikaz dekadencije Starog Rima, političke spletke, brutalan odnos prema robovima, porodične intrige... Scenario je dobro odrađen, priča vuče na dalje čitanje, a i crtež je i više nego korektan. Recimo da je strip za ocjenu 4/5, ili 8/10, po mom skromnom mišljenju. Vidićemo drugi ciklus, sad se tek zakuvalo. Jedino mi je nejasno zašto se serijal zove Murena, kad je 10 puta bitniji lik prvog ciklusa Neron, a i majka mu. |

Ne znam odgovor na pitanje, davno sam pročitao prve dvije Murene.
I zašto se svi Murenu označavate kao nju kad je riječ o muškom liku? |

ako sam dobro shvatio, ovaj serijal se bavi unutrašnjim previranjima i intrigama u samom rimu, te je kompletna radnja smještena u i eventualno oko rima? nema kao u "orlovima rima" ratnih pohoda? |

I Orlovi Rima su mi odlični ali mi je Murena malo bolja.
Crtač Delaby je umro u 2014 tako da ne znam kako će dalje ići taj serijal.
