Who created him? The first Zagor's number goes out more than 30 years ago, in 1961. His parents are the scriptwriter Guido Nolitta (pseudonym of Sergio Bonelli) and the draftsman Gallieno Ferri. The two, in 1975, will also launch another fortunate series: Mister No.
Who's he? Zagor's name is the contraction of Za-gor-te-nay, "The spirit with the axe". He was left an orphan and he has consecrated his life to the defence of the peace and of the order in the imaginary forest of Darkwood, situated in the Oriental United States. Zagor has extraordinary athletic dowries and reflexes, and he is obviously skilled in the use of his axe. His enterprises, joined to the costume's charm and to his battle-cry (a characteristic "AAHHYAAKK"!) make him to be considered from the Indian a kind of semi-god sent from Manito. The series' playground is a classical western, but Nolitta has inserted elements about horror, science fiction and detective-story.
Who are his friends? Meanwhile his inseparable partner: the small, round, voracious and very nice Mexican Don Cico Felipe Cayetano Lopez y Martinez y Gonzales, Cico for everybody. Then, Tonka, a Mohawk's sakem and his brother of blood. And still: the spectacled wizard "Many Eyes", Bat Batterton the detective, Guitar Jim the guitarist-gunman and many, many others.
Who are his enemies? Hundreds the outlaws, more or less dangerous, that Zagor has insured to justice. Perhaps the most dangerous is the genial crazy scientist Hellingen, whose plain of the world's conquest has been failed more times from Zagor. Between the others Rakosi the vampire, Kandrax the druid, his alter ego SuperMike, the spirit of the "Bad" Wendigo.

An article appearing in Il Secolo XIX, 30th November 1999: "Ferri's secret is that of being able to amaze, to fascinate the readers. Anyone who began to read Zagor in childhood has received an imprinting they have never abandoned since…".
ZAGOR, WESTERN ITALIAN STYLE, by Bruno Aroldi. An article appearing in Il Carabiniere, November 1999: "Devised by Guido Nolitta with artwork by Gallieno Ferri, Zagor was published for the first time in 1961. Its success was so astonishing that Ferri has remained chained to this character…".
CAREFUL ZAGOR! PROFESSOR HELLINGEN IS STILL ALIVE,
by Giag. An article appearing in Mondo Padano, 8th February 1997: "It easily moves from western to horror, to magic, to science-fiction, to pure adventure composed of journeys to unexplored and mysterious lands…".
ZAGOR, A "SPIRIT WITH THE HATCHET" IN DARKWOOD,
by Pier Paolo Simonato. An article appearing in Il Gazzettino, 27th April 1995: "He relives his youth after 30 years continuously on the news-stands. We are talking about Za-gor-te-nay, the Spirit with the Hatchet, or simply Zagor to his friends and enemies…".
EN-CROSSES OF THE THIRD KIND, by Bruno Ventavoli.
An article appearing in L'Indice dei libri del mese, December 1995: "Tex and Zagor, two long time famous pillars of the Bonelli adventures, have built an inexistent frontier made of emotions and values, which forms a new blend of influences, cites novels and films, and gallops far into the imagination…".
BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR ZAGOR, by Maurizio Acerbi. An article appearing in Il Giornale, 10th Febrary 1995: "It is an important goal if one reflects on the publishing crisis that is gripping the Italian market. Number 400 of the 'Zagor' collection has now been available on news-stands nationwide for a couple of days…".
TEX, ZAGOR AND THE OTHERS, by Graziano Origa and Bepi Vigna. Interview with Sergio Bonelli appearing in L'Unione Sarda, 30th October 1993: "Zagor is a very different mix of signals and messages that I have extended over the years (…) Cico incarnates an aspect of my nature, the need to laugh at things, instead of dramatizing them…".
ZAGOR LIKE ROBIN HOOD, by Bruno Ralli. An article appearing in L'Adige, 14th January 1990: "In that forest similar to Sherwood forest, host to Robin Hood, lies the hunting ground and background for action of Zagor, an avenger in "costume" a little like Tarzan and a little like the Masked Man…".
THE COMIC STRIP MAKES A FINE SHOW, by Alberto Gedda.
An article appearing in No Limits World, November 1988: "For good purposes: until 28 November 'Dylan Dog and Zagor: two friends for the disabled' is open in Milan; with these two 'paper' testimonials, the National Association for Child Families and Subnormal Adults seeks to awaken public opinion on the problem of solidarity towards weaker persons…".
ZAGOR SYLVAN CREATURE, PROPHET WITH MANY PRECEDENTS, by Marcello Benfante. An article appearing in Giornale di Sicilia, 24th January 1984: "Cico is the perfect alter ego of Zagor, his mirror image, the compensating counter-part, but also, when necessary, the providential "assistant"….Thanks to him the hazy dyes dissolve and some relaxing interludes relieve the development of the action…".
ZAGOR? "HE IS APPRECIATED BECAUSE HE FUELS OUR IMAGINATION", by Gianfranco Sansalone. Interview with Galliano Ferri appearing in L'Unitr, 2nd June 1983: "In Zagor, in his actions, in the environments in which he lives are our desires, our dreams, the spirit of freedom that fascinates everyone…"

| kad ste si vec dali truda i prezentirali nam ove tekstove mislim da malo više truda ne bi škodilo da ste stavili i prijevod tako da svi mogu procitati i ucestvovati u forumu (ne znaju baš svi najbolje strane jezike - ipak je ovo forum vecim dijelom ogranicen na jedno govorno podrucje). |

Prvi Zagorov broj je izasao prije 30 godina, 1961 godine. Njegovi "roditelji" su Guido Nolitta (poznat kao Sergio Bonelli) i Gallieno Ferri, koji su takode, 1975 izdali i seriju: Mister No.
Ko je on? Zagorovo ime potice od "Za-gor-te-nay", "Duh sa Sjekirom". Odrastao je kao siroce i posvetio je svoj zivot odbrani mira i reda u imaginarnoj sumi Darkwood-a, USA. Obucen je u koristenju sjekire i vrlo atletski graden. Sa svojim karakteristikama, kostimu i uzviku - "AAHHYAAKK" (bez prevoda :)), Indijanci ga smatraju polu-bogom kojeg je poslao Manitu. Mjesto radnje je klasicni zapad (western), s tim sto je Nolitta ubacio elemente horora, naucne fantastike.
Ko su njeovi prijatelji? Njegov nerazdvojni partner Meksikanac: Don Ciko Felipe Cayetano lopez y Martinez y Gonzales, poznat kao Ciko. Onda, Tonka, Mohava - njegov brat po krvi. I naizad, vrac "Mnogo Ociju", Bat Batterton - detektiv, Jimi Gitara - revolveras i mnogi drugi.
Ko su njegovi neprijatelji? Stotine kriminalaca manje-vise opasnih, koje je Zagor predao pravdi. Mozda najopasniji je genijalni naucnik Hellingen, ciji je plan, da zavlada svijetom propao u vise navrata, zahvaljujuci Zagoru. Medu ostalima su, Rakos - vampir, Kandrax - druid, SuperMike, "duh zla" Wendigo.
