bolje je ovo:

May 4, 2005: Warner Bros. has announced a July 19th release date for the Constantine DVD. The studio will release 2 versions, a Regular Edition and a 2-Disc Deluxe Edition Set. Both will include an anamorphic widescreen presentation, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The deluxe edition includes an audio commentary by director Francis Lawrence, producer Akiva Goldsman and the screenwriters, Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, A Perfect Circle's "Passive" music video, eighteen minutes of deleted scenes including an alternate ending with optional director's commentary, a Conjuring Constantine: From Comic Book to Movie documentary, another new documentary entitled The Production from Hell, an Imagining the Underworld documentary, and a Power of Pre-Visualization feature with optional commentary by Francis Lawrence. Completing the package will be theatrical trailers and DVD-ROM content. The set will also include an exclusive Hellblazer comic. The single-disc standard edition will only include the deleted scenes, trailer and the DVD-ROM features. You can Pre-Order your copy here!

January 31, 2005: Keanu Reeves wants to come back as John Constantine, as long as the audience likes what he's done so far in the first film opening February 18th. Reeves told IESB that "My contract didn't have a second film in it. But myself and some of the producers and Francis Lawrence fell in love with the guy. I fell in love with the guy. I had one of the best times I've ever had working on this project. So we would talk about 'What could we do? What happens to Constantine?' You know, we'd think, 'He's a heroin addict in Morocco, and he's got this spell, and he's killing people, but he's trying not to kill people, so he keeps knocking himself out. Then [producer] Akiva Goldsman was like, 'No! He wants to stop Revelations'. We'd do these kinds of things. Ultimately, it's up to the audience. That would mean that the studio would have the resources to go forward with it. I would love to play Constantine again as long as I worked with the same people, definitely Francis Lawrence and Akiva Goldsman, and everyone involved in this project because I could not imagine doing this without them." -Thanks to 'DarkHorizons' for the news.

January 29, 2005: Warner Bros. has launched the official Flash website for Constantine, the "Hellblazer" adaptation starring Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz. The film hits theaters on February 18th.

November 2, 2004: Warner Bros. and DC Comics have confirmed that the DC/Vertigo-based Constantine motion picture, which uses the long-running Hellblazer comics series for source material, will now open on February 18, 2005.

May 14, 2004: Straight to Hell website has the exclusive Constantine Trailer online. You can view it by clicking here in either Quicktime, RealPlayer or Windows formats. Thanks to 'Darren' for the heads up!

April 26, 2004: Warner Bros. has launched the offical site, which just has the above logo on it for now. We have also updated the synopsis of the movie.

March 22, 2004: Author Neil Gaiman spoke out on his official blog recently about the talk of comic book author legend Alan Moore removing his name from the "Hellblazer" movie adaptation recently:

"Oh, it's true that Alan's rejected the money for CONSTANTINE and assigned it to his cocreators, but he's now done that for all films of his and things he's done that might one day be filmed. This was because he was deeply hurt and offended and irritated by being accused in the Larry Cohen lawsuit of having written League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as some kind of studio shill, and because Alan never does anything by halves. Up until the lawsuit his position was that he didn't care about the films people made from his work, but was happy to cash the cheques; after, he decided that he didn't even want to cash the cheques. His share of Constantine was redistributed among his co-creators, John Totleben, Steve Bissette and Rick Veitch and to Jamie Delano and John Ridgway. As far as I know, from having spoken to him, Alan's view on Constantine itself is the same as his view on From Hell and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which is that he'll probably rent the DVD one day, you never know, hell might freeze over, -- and that the important work is the comic -- the main difference being here that the film is, from what I understand, mostly based on the Garth Ennis and Jamie Delano issues of the Hellblazer comic. (And, for whatever remains of the record, Alan hasn't seen anything of Constantine -- no scripts, no nothing. Nor has he had any contact with DC on it except for asking Karen Berger to redistribute the money and the credit.) I tend to feel that the filmmakers started with two strikes against them, simply by casting Keanu Reeves instead of, say, Jude Law, but everything I've heard since has been encouraging, so while I'll be sitting in the cinema with my arms folded and an "okay, convince me" attitude, I'll at least be going to see it." Thanks to Darkhorizons.com

March 13, 2004: Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of Constantine from September 17, 2004 to February 11, 2005.

December 23, 2003: Variety reports that Peter Stormare will play Satan in Warner Bros. Pictures' Constantine. Satan is the arch-enemy of mystical troubleshooter John Constantine, played by Keanu Reeves. Kevin Brodbin, Mark Bomback and Frank Cappello adapted the script from the DC Comics property. Stormare will next be seen in Fine Line Features' "Birth," starring Nicole Kidman. Other upcoming titles include Terry Gilliam's "The Brothers Grimm" and Wes Anderson's "The Life Aquatic." Thanks to Superherohype.com for the heads up.

November 28, 2003: Keanu Reeves recently sat down with Sci-Fi Wire for an interview about his upcoming comic book role: "[John Constantine] is a guy who's angry and ambivalen. There's a line in it: 'God has a plan for all of us. Some people like it, and some people don't.' That's kind of my Constantinian take on it. Some people like it. John Constantine doesn't like it, but he likes it"

Reeves also confirmed talk of a PG-13 aim for the project: "Well, we're hoping to make a PG-13 film. I'm playing a character who is damned, and he's trying to escape hell. He goes to Gabriel [Tilda Swinton] and says, 'Come on, I'm taking demons out of little girls. Who's that for?' Gabriel says, 'Well, you don't believe.' I go, 'I believe, for Christ's sake!' He says, 'No, you don't. You know you don't have faith.' After that [encounter with Gabriel], you see my character with scratches on his back, and he's drinking some whiskey, and he's just made love with a demon. So we're trying to deliver a PG-13 film. My feet are on the floor by the bed, and she's under the covers". Thanks to DarkHorizons!

November 12, 2003: Sci-Wire interviewed Lauren-Schuler Donner recently: "In regards to "Constantine", she told Sci-Fi Wire that "It's not an origin story of the character. It's 'Dangerous Habits,' if you know the Hellblazer [series]. We're filming, we're about a third into it. It's come along great. And it'll be out next year, probably, well, at the moment, September". "We're shooting in L.A. A lot at Warner Brothers. A lot downtown. Two weeks we're in Long Beach. And we're trying to stay as true to the comic as we can, though it's an obscure comic. Not many people know Hellblazer. And it's coming along well. We have a new director named Francis Lawrence, who's just doing a great job. We're very lucky, because he understands actors and understands the importance of telling a story, and not just the visuals. And yet it's going to be very stylish". " Thanks to DarkHorizons.

November 10, 2003: Lauren Shuler Donner talks Constantine to the Chicago Times: "The star of this weekend's revolutionary No. 1 hit, "The Matrix Revolutions," isn't out partying, but busy on the set of his 2004 film "Constantine." "Basically, Keanu [Reeves] sends demons to hell in this one," says producer Lauren Shuler Donner. "The twist is that he goes there too to make sure the job is done." She says filming is about a third of the way through on the Los Angeles set. "Tilda Swinton is coming out this week to do her role, plus there is a lot of creature stuff left to do," the producer divulges." Thanks to Superherohype.com

October 13, 2003: Superherohype.com has landed new set pics on Keanu on the set of his new movie Constantine. Cool pics.

October 12, 2003: Darren gives us the heads up on the first shot of Keanu Reeves as John Constantine (See Pictures section above). You can view more photos of the upcoming film at the Straight From Hell website.

September 13, 2003: DarkHorizons reports that the Garth Ennis storyline with the three lords of Hell seems to be the basis for the "Hellblazer" adaptation according to recent casting notes.

September 8, 2003: The casting has continued, with the confirmation of Tilda Swinton, producers have cast Djimon Hounsou as Papa Midnite and Gavin Rossdale as nemesis Balthazar, actor Shia LaBeouf has been cast as Chaz, a sidekick to Constantine. LaBeouf recently starred in Project Greenlight's "The Battle of Shaker Heights" and "Holes". He's got "I, Robot" coming up with Will Smith next year.

August 25, 2003: Tilda Swinton is in negotiations to join the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' "Constantine," the studio has confirmed. The project, based on an adaptation of the DC-Vertigo comic book "Hellblazer," will be directed by Francis Lawrence. "Hellblazer" is described as "Dirty Harry" set in the occult world. Keanu Reeves will star as John Constantine, a man who dabbles in the occult and teams with a female police officer to fight evil forces. Rachel Weisz will play Angela, the cop who becomes involved with Constantine when her twin sister dies in a mysterious suicide. Swinton would play Gabriel, a rogue angel battling Constantine. Kevin Brodbin ("The Glimmer Man") wrote the original script, with a rewrite by Mark Bomback and Frank Cappello.

August 21, 2003: Rachel Weisz (The Mummy) has joined the cast of Constantine, according to FilmJerk. She will be playing Angela, the lead female role. The site has more info. on her character:

As we initially reported in June, producers were looking to cast an actress for a role described as a "beautiful, intelligent and strong detective in her mid 20's to mid 30's, imbued with more than just instinct and seems to be in the right place at the right time where her perps are concerned. She serves as the foil to John Constantine (played by Keanu Reeves), a world-traveling man with occult powers who investigates supernatural mysteries, often walking a thin line between evil and good.

August 5, 2003: In a Variety article talking about Constantine screenwriter Frank Cappello's next project, the trade says that production on the Warner Bros. adaptation, starring Keanu Reeves, will begin in September.

July 11, 2003: DarkHorizons reports that The Early Report indicates the "Hellblazer" adaptation has set a Sept. 17th 2004 release date.

June 24, 2003: A report from IGN FilmForce: Showfax has posted twenty pages from the screenplay for Constantine, Warner Brothers' upcoming feature film adaptation of the Vertigo comic book John Constantine: Hellblazer. The pages were posted as of June 19. Showfax is a Los Angeles-based site that posts script pages and sides for actors to use in upcoming auditions. The twenty script pages in question are to be used for auditioning actors for three key roles. Keanu Reeves has been cast in the lead role of occult investigator John Constantine.

The script pages published by Showfax coincide with casting notices that were recently posted by FilmJerk. These notices revealed many details about Constantine's female lead, Angela Dodson, a "beautiful, intelligent and strong [LAPD] detective in her mid 20's to mid 30's."

The casting notices went on to say that Angela "is imbued with more than just instinct and seems to be in the right place at the right time where her perps are concerned. Angela meets Constantine in an effort to enlist his help in tracking down her twin sister's murderer, even though initially it seems like a suicide. She is deeply religious and becomes very concerned when it seems that supernatural forces are involved in her sister's death. Through this journey, she realizes just how strong she is without having to be so tough." Hispanic and African-American actresses are reportedly being considered for this role.

Head over to IGN FilmForce to read more!

June 23, 2003: Robert N. via email sent this in. Apparently, this is a production design by Alex Mc Dowell for the upcoming film. Head over to the site to check out some more: Alex Mc Dowell Production Designs:

May 20, 2003: Keanu Reeves recently gave an update to his next film: "[It's] his anger. He's angry, but he's got a good heart," Reeves said recently of the comic book badass, whose real name is John Constantine.

In the "Hellblazer" comic, which is aimed at a savvy adult audience, Constantine is an Englishman with occult powers who is both a liar and a cheat and yet nevertheless often prone to doing the right thing. Reeves said he hopes to get moving on the big-screen adaptation, which will be called simply "Constantine," as soon as September. Warner Bros. has long labored to get the DC/Vertigo comic into theaters, with Nicolas Cage at one time attached to the role before Reeves landed the job. The film will mark the feature film debut of video director Francis Lawrence, whose résumé includes clips for Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and P.O.D.

April 30, 2003: From CBR/C2F: While making the press rounds for "X2", producer Lauren Shuler-Donner scooped SCI FI Wire on the status of her other comic-based feature, "Constantine" (based on DC/Vertigo's "Hellblazer" comic). Keanu Reeves is attached to star as DC's chain-smoking occultist. Music video director Francis Lawrence will helm the picture. Shuler-Donner told SCI FI that the movie will be PG-13 but have a darker tone than 'X-Men'. It's really focused on John Constantine, and it's more spiritual. He sends demons back down to hell," Shuler-Donner said. The producer also revealed that the movie is now slated to roll cameras in September.

April 21, 2003: Producer Lauren Schuler Donner says "We start filming September 15, we'll be out next summer. We're going to make it here in LA. We're saying is that he's American and this story does take place in LA, but we do intimate that he works in many different cities. He's had many different adventures--in India, in London. He's a worldly character, basically". Hellblazer's 'Dangerous Habits' mini-series by Garth Ennis is forming a lot of the script. Thanks to DH.

December 3, 2002: The light on this film went from green to red after "The Cell" director Tarsem dropped out of the project (a move that inspired dueling lawsuits from Tarsem and Warners, both of which have since been settled). Nicolas Cage was to star in the comic book adaptation; the current star candidate is "Matrix" hero Keanu Reeves, but no deal can be made until a new director is nailed.

Svi me pitaju kako napreduje izdavanje, hoce li izaci Hellblazer uskoro?

Da, istina. To sam sasvim smetnuo sa uma. Mozda bi bilo pametno to i istaci, tipa "Vudu Tata Midnajt", ubacivanjem jos jedne dodatne reci u titulu
