This time we get a few select poems and stories by Poe refracted through the prisms of writer Rich Margopoulos (Vampirella, Creepy) and long-time collaborator artist Richard Corben (Heavy Metal, Bigfoot). This team has worked together on Poe as recently as last year, when they published “The Fall of the House of Usher” and Other Tales of Terror through Random House. And while Poe's ideas are sound, the re-imaginings here required just as much creativity to bring alive the end result in the team's trademark creepy/humorous presentations.

Rising Stars is a 24-issue comic book limited series by J. Michael Straczynski about 113 people (called "Specials"), as they are born with special abilities following a mysterious light in the sky. The comic explores how a society may react to the introduction of superpowers, and how those Specials may react towards society and each other.
On 31 December 1999, the Horsemen arrive to bring on the Tribulation. They find the world much changed from what they remeber it, and each has a meeting with a modern person who changes that Horseman's view of the world. At the end of the series, each of the Horsemen takes on a new name representing a new condition of the world. Famine become Fecundity, representing the fear of becoming overweight; War becomes Incorporation, because all wars are now fought in the boardroom; Pestilence becomes Information, because information is the new plague on the world; and Death becomes Incomprehensiblity, representing that fact that many people can't comprehend that their actions will have consequences. In the end, the Horsemen climb into their limos, and decide to each take their own path to the world's destruction, they plan to return in a century, as they think that is all it will take to usher in the Tribulation.
