July 1967 - July 2007: Hugo Pratt gave birth to Corto Maltese 40 years ago this year!
With his 1st appearance in "The Ballad of the Salt Sea".
For this special occasion, many events have been scheduled in 2007.
Exhibitions "Corto Maltese - Drawn Literature", in Rome (finished) and in Varese (03.31-06.23);
Exhibition "La Trace du Scorpion (The Scorpion's Trace)" at the Lausanne BDFil (September) for the publication of the "Desert Scorpions", T.7;
Exhibition "The trips of Corto Maltese in Orient", in the Comics & Graphic Arts Convention of Roubaix (2-3 June)
Numerous publications: "The Ballad of the Salt Sea" anniversary edition - format and quality of the original boards; "Corto Maltese - Littérature Dessinée"; "Autour de Corto (Around Corto) - Fable de Venise (Fable of Venice)"; "Périples Imaginaires (Imaginary Journeys)", T.2 - art catalog of Hugo Pratt's works; "Les recettes de Corto (Corto's recipes)"; "Ernie Pike", T.4 and T.5 .
