na jednom engleskom glazbenom forumu sam (o)stavio mali ogled svog najdražeg albuma iz prošle godine, pa ovdje samo kopi-pejstam...
i never really cared about fiona apple untill this little piece of masterpiece... cause i've always had this notion about her as beeing too grumpy, too troubled, overly pretencious and depressive for me too really care and give her a moment of my attention. ironically, The Idler Wheel is more or less like that, but then again different... so simplistic (in form), yet clever (in lyrics) singing about dealing and reconciling with troubled, dying relationship and some of her inner demons, with immersed fiona's vocal interpretation that, at moments, cuts thru just like a (hot) knife or brings joy and ease in albums crucial moments... especially towards the end of the album where you can sense this kind of artists personal stage of catarsis, a sort of a healing road from the darkish and unsettling begining of the album to its ironic and perky finish.
you don't come across such a bold and daring invitation into someones intimacy and mind that often... but when you do come across it, and you don't get scarred or repulsed by it, listen to it carefully, it can be pretty overwhelming.
