Evo da otvorim topic gdje mozemo da diskutujemo o ovoj dvojici brace genija, koji su sami stvorili tri odlicna serijala, i to sve dok im je bilo jedva 30 godina.
Vise o njihovim radovima mozete da vidite u donjim postovima.

Jonathan Luna (born December 10, 1978[1]) and Joshua Luna (born January 9, 1981[1]), professionally known as the Luna Brothers, are American comics artists. They have created three series together: Ultra, Girls, and The Sword, and provided art for Marvel Comics' Spider-Woman: Origin.
The Lunas were born in the United States to Filipino parents.[2] Their earliest interest in comics were through publications like Mad magazine, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Uncanny X-Men, and in particular, creators such as Mort Drucker, Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri and Adam Hughes.[1] In their teens they were enthusiastic fans of fellow Filipino comics creator Whilce Portacio, and his creation, Wetworks.[2]
The Luna brothers sent Ultra to Image Comics publisher Erik Larsen as a blind submission, which consisted of a synopsis and five-page sequence.[1] Image published Ultra as a miniseries between 2004 and 2005.
Girls was also published by Image and ran, between May 2005 and April 2007. Their latest venture is a limited series, again for Image, called The Sword. It started in October 2007.[3][4] Joshua Luna began a solo project, Whispers, at Image in January 2012.[5]
The Lunas have expressed a preference for working on their own creations, but have stated that if given the opportunity, would like to work on Superman, Supergirl, Batman and Spider-Man.[2] Joshua has also expressed an interest in one day writing movie screenplays.[1]

Girls
After a young man named Ethan Daniels is thrown out of the bar in the town of Pennystown, he meets a mysterious naked and injured woman out on the street. He takes her to his home, and after he tries unsuccessfully to get information from her, they have intercourse. He leaves her in his house the next day to report the situation to the local police officer, but they return to find she has laid eggs that hatch into full-grown identical copies of her. The girls attack any other females they come across, forcing the townspeople to hide in a local farmhouse. The situation is complicated by a giant sperm-like monster in a cornfield and the discovery of an enormous reflective dome separating Pennystown from outside aid.

Ultra: Seven Days
On Thursday night the three heroines are driving around when they see a poster for a fortune teller whom they decide to visit for fun. The fortune teller claims Pearl Penalosa will find her true love within seven days, Olivia Arancina will suffer a loss within seven days, and Jennifer Janus will receive what she has given within seven days. Later that night a truck driver hits Olivia's car, causing her to suffer a loss: the first of the fortunes has come true.
On Friday morning Ultra stops a bank robbery and fights another super-human. All the news people have one question: "Why are you still single?" Afterwards she meets Aphrodite and Cowgirl for a bit; she also meets Jason, whom she really likes, but she is called away, so he gives her his cell phone number. Aphrodite and Cowgirl ask one question: "True...Love?" Later that night Ultra calls him.

The Sword
Dara Brighton is a young paraplegic college student with a happy, normal life, until three strangers knock on her family's door, demanding a particular sword. After the assassination of her father, mother and sister, Dara is left in the burning house and crashes into the basement, where she finds the sword giving her incredible powers and setting her off on an incredible search for vengeance.[3]
The story explores the history of the three unusual siblings Dara is chasing, as well as Dara's own history with her family and how she draws strength from those bonds and experiences. Also explored within the story is the broader impact incredible events can have in an otherwise normal world.
Dara finds out through a classmate that her father was an immortal warrior who used the sword to confront each of four siblings. He murdered one ages before, and attempted to keep the other three in line. Dara vows to destroy them all, and discovers the sword grants her fast healing, provided she can match up her dismembered limbs before skin covers any stumps, and enhanced strength (allowing for tremendous leaps). After she kills all three siblings, it is revealed that the classmate is the final one, and after he commits suicide, she releases the sword, which causes all of her sustained wounds to unheal as she returns and dies in the remnant of her home.

Pokušao sam čitati Girls ali nije išlo. Crtački mi ne leži, sve te zamućene pozadine i cijela ta upotreba blur colora me uništila, doduše čitao sam u skenu pa se nadam da taj "katatonični" efekt nije toliko intezivan i na papiru, jer bih mu stvarno volio dati drugu šansu. Isto je i sa The Swordom.

Ma da, jasno mi je da ti može biti privlačana takva upotreba kolora, da daje dubinu prostora, filmičnost i sl. Ali na nesretnom kompu meni je to zamutilo fokus, oči mi zakrvarilo i donjelo glavobolju nakon 20-tak strana. Tako mi i treba kad idem čitati sken.
Girls Slipcase kapitalac se na aukcijama ovdje na sajtu prodavao za 200-tinjak kn, živ sam se pojeo što tad nisam imao love. Al` neka, barem se Andrej usrećio (ako se dobro sjećam). |

Mislim da si u pravu. Andrej je veliki ljubitelj "Girls" stripa, a i Americkih stripova uopste. |

Iako su Joshua & Jonathan Luna rođeni Amerikanci (od roditelja Filipinaca), ne mogu se načuditi koliko su Filipini, ta otočna država sa kraja svijeta (iz naše vizure) dali sjajnih strip crtača.
Da nabrojim samo neke:
Lan Medina, Gerry Alanguian, Gilbert Monsanto, Lienil Francis Lu, Carlo Pagulayan, Roy Allan Martinez, Wilson Tortosa, Bing Cansino, Mico Suayan, Edgar Tadeo....i naravno dva velikana nažalost pokojna:
Ernie Chan i nenadmašni tušer Conana, Tony DeZuniga!
Sorry na oftopičarenju ali nisam izdržao da ih ne spomenem. |

Odličan topic (svaka čast Ace :) )
Meni su Girls i Ultra među dražim stripovima koje sam do sada pročitao (i da, ja sam ubo onah Girls slipcase za samo 200 kn :) )
The Sword mi još nije došao pod ruke, no ne sumnjam da je na nivou ostatka stripova koje su izdali do sada
Također sam pročitao i nešto malo ovog novog stripa "Whisper" i nadam se da će i on prije ili poslije doći na red za slipcase izdanje

Bogami, super si pros'o. Ovdje u USA se prodaju po $200, ipak malo previse za moj novcanik.

Ovo jos uvijek nisam cit'o, nadam se da cu uskoro naci vremena, kad zavrsim ostalo koje nikad da zavrsim.

U popriličnom sam zaostatku u čitanju onoga što imam u kolekciji a nikako uhvatit vremena....
Ne znam kako ti, ali ja veči dio stripova pročitam zimi, sad preko ljeta je ludnica

Ja slistio Girls za jedan dan 
Ima priča veliku rupu po meni (da ne spojlujem sad), ali je mnogo zarazan strip i tera te da čitaš dalje. |
