Shown here is the area surrounding the stellar cluster NGC 2467, located in the southern constellation of Puppis ("The Stern")
With an age of a few million years at most, it is a very active stellar nursery, where new stars are born continuously from large clouds of dust and gas. The image, looking like a colorful cosmic ghost, contains the open clusters Haffner 18 and Haffner 19, as well as vast areas of ionised gas.

The northern lights dance in stunning hues as they light up the night sky over Oulunsalo, Finland in this captivating night sky photo by photographer Thomas Kast Salamapaja, taken on August 31.
"Norwegian Coast"
This is a shot from last night (sept.1st) on the outskirts of Tromsø, northern Norway.
The mountain back right in the frame is the famous "Håja", which was also the inspiration for the architect designing the arctic cathedral in Tromsø.

Voyager 1 phone home! A new NASA photo captures Voyager 1's radio signal glow nearly 12 billion miles from Earth, as seen by the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA).
Scientists can't "see" our first interstellar ambassador in the visible spectrum, but they can detect Voyager 1's signal in radio light.

"Sacrificial Dance" The mountain-peak in the centre is called Sieidi. The word sieidi means "sacrificial place", and is also in Northern Scandinavia often used to reffer to places that have unusual land forms different from the surroundings. And this mountain was a place where the sami people made sacrifies of animals and objects, to satisfy the gods.
Sami shamanism considers "Siedis" as spiritual 'focal points' and worships them as gateways to the spirit world
