U svom stanu u West Willageu u New York Cityju pronađen je mrtav sjajan glumac i oskarovac Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Umro je u dobi od 46 godina, od nepoznatog uzroka i pod zasad nejasnim okolnostima, as nagađa se o predoziranju.
Prvi put sam ga gledao u epizodnoj ulozi u Mirisu žene, a zapamtio po također sporednoj ali efektnoj roli u Talentiranom gospodinu Ripleyu.
Glumac od golemog formata i kalibra u svim ulogama, od Trumana Capotea u Capoteu do negativca Owena Daviana u Nemogućoj misiji III, od Sinegdohe, New York do Martovskih ida, od Igara gladi do Mastera, teško je reći gdje je bio bolji.
Neka mu je laka zemlja...
Ja necu imati s kim ostati mlad ako svi ostarite,
i ta ce mi mladost teško pasti...

u svim filmovima koje sam gledao je bio odličan
bez obzira da li se radilo o glavnoj ulozi ili o epizodi
odličan u ulozi capotea, odličan u možda najčudnijem filmu koji sam gledao (sinegdoha),
u sreći je bio sjajan, u magnoliji isto, u sumnji genijalan, u prije nego đavo... isto odličan
ali uloga po kojoj ću ga najviše pamtiti, i koja mi se prva poveže s njim, je ona u studengori
prerano je otišao
velika šteta i veliki RIP

obično sam indiferentan prema ovakvim vijestima iz svijeta zabave, ali smrt filipa sajmur hofmana me neugodno zatekla i poprilično dirnula, upravo stoga što cijelo vrijeme u glavi vrtim njegove glumačke majstorije i mislim si kakve je još brojne i veličanstvene izvedbe mogao priuštiti ovom svijetu. bio je glumački... velik... ali ono... fakat velik. respekt ogromni.
