Iako nisam slušao sve albume odmah mogu reći da se nikako ne slažem s tim izborom, pa sam si dao truda i sastavio svoj top 25 na koji ulaze samo 2 albuma sa te stranice.
Mislim da si pomalo fulao point. Nije u pitanju 25 najekstremnijih BM albuma nego metal albuma uopce. ;)

Plus, po cemu ti je recimo Heaven Shall Burn... ekstremniji od recimo Panzer Divison Marduk? To me zivo zanima. :)
Fokus je na "ekstremnosti", a ne na "najbolji album" ili "najdrazi album". Tu bi se slagao s tobom (i meni je najbolji). ;)

Ako se gleda samo ekstremnost onda također tu ima albuma koji se ne bi trebali naći na toj listi. Uzimajući u obzir vokal mojih 25 pojede cijelu tu listu po ekstremnosti, naravno da ću na nju staviti albume iz žanra kojeg slušam u 95% slučajeva.
Inače, na najvećoj metal enciklopediji uopće nisu stavljeni Converge i The Dillinger Escape Plan iako ista sadrži preko 100000 bendova. http://www.metal-archives.com/
I SLipknot je ekstreman pa ga ne drže na enciklopediji jer smatraju da to nije čisti metal, vjerojatno je tako i sa ova 2.
Što se tiče Marduka Panzer Division ima samo brzinu dok Heaven Shall Burn ima sve. I da, Heaven Shall Burn je ekstremniji po vokalu iako je u pitanju isti lik.
Inače, ovaj album Leviathana koji sam stavio na broj 1 ima vjerojatno najbolesniji (a time i najekstremniji) vokal svih vremena. |

| Zaboravih da se poslužim tvojom metodom i pitam: na koju foru je recimo Leprosy ekstremniji od Scream Bloody Gore albuma. Nije niti po zvuku a niti po vokalu, i kada se sve zbroji tu listu ja ne mogu gledati kao odabir najekstremnijih albuma već kao top 25 ekstremne muzike. |

pa ... osobno nikad nisam pao na Leprosy, samo prvi i ITP te Human pa ... :/
ali na Leprosy imas jako dobro nianse Chuckovog vokala, dok je mozda na debiju samo ubitacan, straight line ... just my 5c

Što se tiče ekstremnosti kriteriji mogu biti različiti, netko gleda brzinu a netko nešto drugo. I ja sam se nekada najviše palio na brzinu u muzici a sada mi to nije najvažnije.
Na bivšem radnom mjestom radio sam s nekim likom koji je većinom slušao death metal gdje mu je brzina bila jako važna. Malo po malo navukao sam ga na black, pržio mu albume jer nije bio u mogućnosti da ih sam skida. Snimao sam mu stvari po svome ukusu i jednom prilikom mu snimio Ravensblood "From the Tumulus Depths", jedan od nekoliko najbržih albuma u blacku. Kada ga je preslušao njegova reakcija je bila da je to jednostavno prebrzo za njega a i taj vrišteći vokal mu ne paše. Inače je znao govoriti da ne može podnijeti izrazito vrišteće vokale pa mu se tako nisu svidjeli ni Behexen, Satanic Warmaster, Sargeist i Goatmoon, sve finski bendovi kojima je takav vokal zaštitni znak, barem na početku njihovih karijera. Lik koji je odrastao na death metalu (u kojemu nije birao što će slušati) žalio se na screaming vokal, vjerojatno zato jer nije navikao na nešto tako ekstremno. |

| To sve ovisi od benda do benda, od albuma do albuma itd... Nekad nisu postojali takvi vokali kao Azgorh, Wrest, Hoath Torog, Satanic Tyrant Werewolf, Corvus i slični jer stari bendovi uglavnom nisu koristili takve vokalne stilove. Treba npr. usporediti Mayhemov De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas i Behexenov Rituale Satanum, razlike su nebo i zemlja u vokalnoj izvedbi. Naravno da ne može svaki scream biti isti, čak i kod potpuno jednakih stilova postoje te nijanse koje pravi fanovi prepoznaju, barem ih ja prepoznajem. |

V. Compendiums (12:44-18:04)
He (Al-Ma'mun) was well aware of the treasures to be found in the ancient texts of the Greek philosophers... He would send emissaries great distances to get hold of these scientific texts. Often, foreign rulers defeated in battle would be required to settle the terms of surrender to him with books from their libraries rather than in gold. Al-Ma'mun was almost fanatical in his desire to collect all the world's books under one roof, translate them into Arabic and have his scholars study them. The institution he created to realize his dream epitomizes more than anything else the blossoming of the scientific golden age. It became known throughout the world as the House of Wisdom (Bayt al-Hikma) (...) By the middle of the ninth century the House of Wisdom would have become the largest repository of books in the world.

By the end of the tenth century the translation movement was coming to an end, the Abbasid Empire was crumbling, less-enlightened caliphs were cracking down on freedom of speech and rationalist inquiry, and the great names associated with the House of Wisdom were already a distant memory. But to infer from this the golden age of Arabic science was on the wane would be utterly wrong, for the best was yet to come (...) It was during the second half of the tenth century that we saw the three most outstanding thinkers in the history of Islam arriving on the scene.

VII. Besieged (21:14-33:00)
It was in 1258 that the accomplishments of the House of Wisdom and the Islamic Golden Age were brought to a cruel halt. During the Mongol invasion of Baghdad (...) the mosques, libraries, homes and hospitals of the great city were all destroyed. The family of the last Abbasid Caliph Al-Musta'sim, as well as thousands of the city inhabitants, were slaughtered, and the extensive collection of books and manuscripts at the House of Wisdom were thrown in the Tigris. It is said that for days afterward the river ran black with the ink of books and red with the blood of scholars. It was a tragic ending for one of the most advanced, diverse and progressive cities of the age, and an ending from which it would take Baghdad centuries to recover.

Luc Lemay comments, “As our EP ‘Pleiades’ Dust’ consists out of a single long narrative composition, it was not written with the intention of being edited in segments. As the storyline proceeds in chapters though, I was able to isolated this part called ‘Wandering Times’ which will give the listener a good idea of the composition aesthetics which are present throughout the whole piece. The lyrics tell the story of the ‘House of Wisdom’, which is referring to a library that was based in Baghdad sometime between the 8th and the 13th century. There much of the intellectual activity of the Middle Age took place while Europe was stuck in the Dark ages after the fall of Rome. Many scientific discoveries were made at the time such as algebra, optics, astronomy and many more… Without the translation movement that brought this library to life, we would have never had the Renaissance that we know. It is a story about curiosity, beautiful minds and sadly, about how man destroys great discoveries and achievements.”

My uncle used to work on civil engineering contracts in Libya and Iraq, so we kept receiving exotic, mosque-graced postcards throughout the otherwise lacklustre eighties behind the Iron Curtain. 27.05. izlazi novi album Behexena pod imenom The Poisonous Path. Ne očekujem nešto od njega jer mi se nije svidio ni prethodni Nightside Emanations, vokalno se bend dosta srozao.
