TEHRAN (FNA)- A notorious sniper of the ISIL, arrested by the poplar forces near Manbij, underlined his role in shooting at those civilians who tried to leave the terrorist-held town in Northeastern Aleppo.
21-year-old Mohammad Shebli known as Abu Abdou Karim was arrested by Shams al-Shamal battalions.
Shebli, who is originally from al-Assadiyat in Western side of Manbij, disclosed that the Tunisian leader of the ISIL in Manbij ordered to target those civilians who tried to leave Manbij.
"My first duty was shooting at fleeing civilians," Shebli confessed, adding, "Very bad situation of the ISIL militants in the town of Manbij caused him to hid among flown of fleeing civilians to leave the town."
"The remaining pockets of the ISIL in Manbij have no way to go. They only dig tunnels across the town use them while attacked by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)," he said, adding, "The ISIL has gathered scores of civilians in Central Manbij to used them as human shield while attacked by airplanes to SDF forces."
Military sources said on Sunday that Fighters of Manbij Military Council, affiliated to SDF, continued to beat the ISIL back from more positions in Manbij and took back more residential areas in the town.
The SDF fighters stormed ISIL's positions in al-Hazaveneh neighborhood and took control over traffic police building, which claimed the lives of at least 17 militants.
The SDF combatants found two long tunnels with at least 800 meters of length connecting the traffic building to wheat silos.
The Kurdish-led SDF further found a large volume of ammunition, arms, communication devices, RPG missiles and grenades.

“We watched promo videos of women, children and elderly people crying out, 'where are you, Muslims? Why are you hiding? When Muslim blood is being spilled, you decide you want to be a pacifist?' I had feelings of guilt, compassion and responsibility. We went there not because we knew the facts but because of our emotions,” he told RT.
Blinded by religious fervor, Zurab set out on a long journey to Syria hoping to join the terrorist group.
However, he soon understood the nightmare that he was in, describing it as “worse than the tyranny of the government forces.”
“They were extremely brutal, killing women and the elderly who did not obey them. They abused and mutilated their dead bodies. They cut up the corpses, tied them to the back of the cars and dragged them along,” Zurab said.
Christians were killed on the spot, without a word spoken, he added.
“They would find them and publically execute them. I witnessed many executions,” Zurab recounted.
He understood he had to flee the horror of ISIS, so his decision was to win the terrorists' trust. This is how Zurab became a bodyguard for one of the most notorious IS leaders, Abu Omar al-Shishani.
When Zurab returned to Ingushetia, he turned himself in to authorities, was tried and found guilty, claiming that he never killed civilians. The court gave him a five-year suspended sentence.
But there is a harsher punishment he fears: That which could come from IS. “They think I'm a renegade,” Zurab explained.

The Syrian Armed Forces continued their advance in the northern Aleppo countryside on Friday, capturing more territory from the jihadist rebels near the strategic Al-Castillo Highway.
According to an Al-Masdar field journalist that is embedded in northern Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to capture most of the territory between the southern farms of Al-Mallaah and the Al-Castillo Highway.
As a result of these gains on Friday, the Syrian Armed Forces are now 250 meters away from the Al-Castillo Highway; however, the latter has halted their advance after they captured an important hilltop overlooking the road.
The primary objective for the Syrian Armed Forces was to cutoff the Al-Castillo Highway; now that this plan has come to fruition, they will fortify their positions around this roadway in order to prevent the enemy from resupplying their units inside the eastern districts of Aleppo.
In the meantime, the Syrian Armed Forces are taking advantage of the terrain by firing a multitude of missiles and artillery shells towards the jihadist defenses, forcing the latter to retreat from the area.
Leading the charge to cutoff the Al-Castillo Highway was the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces”; they were assisted by Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary) and the National Defense Forces (NDF).
