U rujnu dolazi prvi broj Love & Rockets Vol. IV.

Time se, ususret 35. godišnjici serijala, L&R nakon gotovo desetljeća izlaženja u formatu godišnjeg trade paperbacka (L&R: New Stories) vraća magazinskom formatu, a tempo izlaska novih brojeva bi trebao biti jedan broj svaka 4 mjeseca.

X-Out / The Hive / Sugar Skull trilogija Charlesa Burnsa dobiva svoje integralno izdanje naslovljeno Last Look. Ovo se uzima bez rezerve, iako se iskreno nadam i domaćem izdanju u nekoj skoroj budućnosti (nudge nudge, wink wink).

Charles Burns’ epic trilogy that began with X’ed Out, continued in The Hive, and concluded in Sugar Skull is now in one volume. Last Look, from Penguin Random House, is the long strange trip of Doug in all its mind-bending, heartbreaking totality. Jel postoji neko mjesto gdje se moze vidjeti sto se sve kuha u izradi tamo u marvelu, dc-u, vertigu itd.? Moze li se i kod njih vidjeti nekakva neobjavljena tabla i koje price su u izradi za koje heroje? Takodjer, ima li za vidjeti negdje podatke o prodajama u amera, trazio bih nesto po cbr forumu, ali to je sve malo i nista.

Naletio sam prije nekog vremena na najavu
Tarzan: The Buscema Years Omnibus Hardcover -
nisam dosad imao prilike čitati,
no bilo što od kombinacije Thomas/Buscema/Alcala
me odmah razveseli i plaćam koliko god treba.
70+ E u ovom slučaju .. ali hej, to su samo pare.

Uglavnom, trebalo bi uskoro (27.04.) i može se naručiti, ali:
malo sam čačkao po netu i saznao da je Dynamite
u više navrata izdanje najavio (promaklo mi ),
no iz nekog razloga se nije desilo.
Nadajmo se da neće i ovaj put ubrljati.

Mislim da nismo pominjali ovde novog izdavača AWA (Artists, Writers & Artisans), kojeg su osnovale neke "prebeglice" iz Marvela, a finansirao ih je, među ostalima, milijarder James Murdoch, što znači da im je džep STVARNO dubok.

Ono što mi je privuklo pažnju je Grendel, Kentucky. Nije to bilo teško (privući mi pažnju). Dve stavke:

- Beowulf
- Tommy Lee Edwards

Edwards je jedan od najvećih američkih crtača svoje generacije - stavio bih tu još J.P. Leona, možda i J.H. Williamsa III (samo "možda" zato što je on ipak nešto stariji po godinama) - koja je počela da objavljuje 90-ih, u vreme najveće krize dobrog ukusa (u stripu).

Neko je postavio pitanje koji crtači (i upisivači) rade sa ručnim upisivanjem teksta, i eto odgovora: Tommy Lee Edwards je jedan od retkih, jer sa njim uvek ide John Workman. Ovaj put je Edwards radio i kolor.

Sam naslov me podseća na Banshee, Pennsylvania, i verovatno ima nekih sličnosti tu i tamo, ali ruralna atmosfera me više podseća na Justified, koji sam dosta gledao prošle godine. S tim što Grendel, KY ima natprirodnu osnovu pa je rezultat drugačiji. Četiri epizode, i završeno je.



Scenario pisao Jeff McComsey, koji mi prethodno nije bio poznat. Ne mogu još da zaključim iz prve epizode da li je jaka karika ili ne.

Strip izgleda super i ima intrigantnu premisu. Što se dogodi kada se uspavana ljepotica ne probudi iz svojeg začaranog sna?
