It was on this day in British history, 22 June 1986, that the Three Lions fell victime to the "Hand of God". Six minutes into the 2nd half of the World Cup quarterfinal, Argentinian national player Diego Maradona used his hand to score the first goal of the match. Maradona's comment that he scored "a little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God" led to the nickname of this infamous event in the history of English soccer.
