Connie Francis - Everybody's Somebody's Fool (1960) HQ
MUNROWS RETRO
The iconic singer Connie Francis at her very best! This, I truly believe, was one of her greatest classic hit singles of all time. It's hallmark dance beat is one of the most memorable in early rock n' roll history. "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" skyrocketed to #1 on June 25, 1960 for three consecutive weeks on Cash Box and #1 for two weeks on Billboard.
Although known for capturing Rock ‘n’ Roll stars in their element, one of Bob Gruen’s most popular pictures of Debbie Harry was taken off the stage. In this perfectly candid shot at Coney Island, which is a highlight of Sotheby’s London S|2 Rock Style selling exhibition, there’s no denying the singer’s it-girl charm.

A slightly silly one and suitable for the ladies next Father's Day! The famous father-daughter team of Cornel Wilde and Jennifer Salt from the 1972 made-for-TV movie Gargoyles provides a cuter take on this early Motown ballad by Mary Wells. "My guy" in this case is dear old Dad.
Written and produced by Smokey Robinson and recorded in 1963, it was Mary Wells' only major hit. Released in March 1964, it climbed the US and UK charts, reaching #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 on May 16, 1964 and #1 on the Cash Box Top 100 on May 30, 1964, peaking on the UK charts at #5 in June.
