Uh, zeznuto ovo sa žanrovima. Recimo Thing, Predator i Terminatora obožavam ali u mojoj glavi ih ne klasifikujem kao SF

Problem je u tome što nemamo svi ista merila za granice žanrova, kao da ove nisu dovoljno nejasne same po sebi. Meni ni Zvezdani ratovi ni (pogotovo) Peti element nisu naučna fantastika, a volim i jedno i drugo. Sve u njima bi moglo da se preobuče u neko drugo, tradicionalnije ruho, a da zaplet, likovi, i atmosfera ostanu maltene isti.

U vezi toga, "epska" fantastika je potpuno pogrešan naziv, ali se udomaćio, pa eto. Malo ima dela koja se mogu nazvati epskim, a neka od njih spadaju u naučnu fantastiku (na primer, Dina). Tu ima mnogo likova, i bave se krupnim dešavanjima. Tako da je reč "epsko" postala neka vrsta sinonima za "herojsko" ili "junačko", pa je i Conan, koji u startu uopšte nije "epski", nego je više misterija ili skoro horor, dobio tu nalepnicu. E sad, u filmu je ta razlika smanjena u odnosu na književnost, budući da su filmovi vremenski ograničeni na približno istu dužinu. (A u slučaju Conana, Poledourisova muzika podražava stare "epske" filmove sa muzikom Miklosa Rozse.)

Kod povijesnih i SF filmova među najboljima su prevladali povijesni i SF spektakli.
Vjerojatno će tako biti i u ovoj kategoriji.
Hoće li ovdje biti bar nominirane i neke manje epske (i spektakularne) fantazije i magije? 😂

Meni je neverovatno da od onako glupavih pojedinačnih lista ispadne ovako dobra konačna lista.

Ma kako, da ne? Nije li to ono što tražimo od epske fantastike? Nežne ljudske priče, u kojima likovi šetaju šumicom, pored reke i ćeretaju...

Naravno, zato je ovo sve samo igra i razmjena mišljenja. Osobno uglavnom kad glasam gledam koji mi film bolje predstavlja određeni žanr, a ne koji mi je bolji. Paklena naranča je meni jedan od najboljih filmova koji sam gledao, ali ga ja vidim više kao dramu nego kao sf. Alien realno zaslužuje više bodova, ali će mu glasove odvući horor žanr... itd.

Ma kako, da ne? Nije li to ono što tražimo od epske fantastike? Nežne ljudske priče, u kojima likovi šetaju šumicom, pored reke i ćeretaju...

Sad znamo što ti tražiš od ovog žanra, a za druge još ne, bar dok ne glasaju.
Ali moguće da je tako, a tako sam i postavio pitanje (s manjom vjerojatnošću za nešto drugo).
Iako manje epske i spektakularne fantazije postoje i kao dobri filmovi: Panov labirint i Oblik vode npr...

Meni ne, ja sam ga doživio baš kao modernu bajku. A i imdb kaže adventure, drama, fantasy.
