Taras Buljba izgleda vrlo zanimljivo. i neusporedivo bolje nacrtano od ostalih naslova.
ovo ostalo mi izgleda totalno bezveze. autopilot. |

Is it because of your origins Slavic… Or your experience of the war?
A little of both. I can m'imprégner the beauty of the Russian language, which shares the same roots as the Croatian. And it is true that my experience as a soldier showed me this story from a different angle. Thus, I was able to draw a parallel between the Cossack uprising and the war of independence in Croatia (1991-1995); as Ukraine during the seventeenth century, which once released from Poland, came under the influence of Russia, Croatia, having fought against Yugoslavia, has been "absorbed" by Europe. Taras Bulba is a chance to express my opinion on what each war has caused and the fact that individuals, blinded by politicians, nationalism, religion… are used as "cannon fodder".
What is your vision of myth Cossack?
This is a vision of a free spirit unwavering, true to himself what happens. From another point of view, the Cossacks are famous for being ruthless warriors. My parents told me terrible stories about the Cossacks who, upon arrival in Croatia in 1944 as a contingent of the Russian army, have committed the worst atrocities on civilians. All of these excesses are part of the myth Cossack, and when I watched this sad Hollywood version of Taras Bulba with Yul Bryner, I was just like crazy. This film in me a desire to make a decent version of the novel.
Nicolas Gogol (1809-1852), of Ukrainian origin, is the renowned author of Révizor, The Overcoat and The Dead Souls. Barely 26 years old, he wrote Taras Bulba, imaginary episode on Ukraine early seventeenth century, hotbed of the insurgency Cossack Zaporogues
