Riječ je, ustvari o Texovu dvojniku. To je ilustracija za potrebe jedne jako stare epizode, u kojoj je jedan mali zdepasti Mexikanac, na seoskom, dobro uhranjenom konju, glumio Texova dvojnika, dok ga je proganjala neka velika banda, a on ih je vrebao iz zasjede, tako je nekako bilo, a ovaj na konju je bio, jadan, mamac, izložen baražnoj vatri!

Dobro je opet vidjeti Meksikanku Lupe, a moglo je biti puno češće da Tex nije davnih dana onako pobjegao glavom bez obzira.

Nisam još imao prilike vidjeti u cijelosti neku epitodu Dottija, ako ne računam onaj almanah koji je crtao u suradnji sa Gattiom.
Ovo gore izgleda baš po mojem ukusu, više se potrudio nego kada je radio na Zagoru.

Lijep i zasićen crtež kod Dottija. Znalački odmjeren i uravnotežen ritam crnih i bijelih površina, uz zapaženo pomno korištenje izvora svjetla u odnosima sjena, kojih, ipak, ima i nekoliko lažnih. Sve u svemu, dobar likovni dojam, uz pomalo naivno nacrtane platnene pokrove krovišta kola.
