Prve dve trećine ovog stripa su fenomenalne, čak se može svrstati među najbolje radove Teksa (makar one koje sam ja čitao). Toliko interesantno i napeto, atmosferično i različito od klasičnih epizoda gde su negativci neretko jednolični, i gde je od samog starta jasno kako će se radnja završiti i u kom će pravcu ići. Za razliku od klasičnih epizoda i već viđenih radova, Teks i Karson se ovde zapravo dosta namuče da uhvate Crnog Tigra, te nisu dvojac koji vrlo jednostavno i bez imalo problema rešavaju misteriju. Crni Tigar je zato i jedan od boljih Teksovih negativaca, baš zato što je dva (može se sa pravom reći čak i tri!) puta nasamario i prevario Teksa i Karsona.

Neke scene iz ovog stripa su mi izuzetno pamtljive i dobro napisane - kao recimo uvod koji se dešava u pozorištu, ili zaseda koju su pripremili za Teksa i Karsona u napuštenom gradiću; ono što sledi je napeta trka, puna adrenalina i akcije, borba za goli život naših junaka. Toliko je to maestralno predstavio Vila da sam zapravo osetio to uzbuđenje, kao da gledam dobar vestern i još bolju akciju.

Poslednja trećina mi zapravo spušta utisak o celoj priči, odnosno sve od momenta kada su Teks i Kit zarobljeni u rudniku pa do kraja priče koja se završava izuzetno antiklimatično. Kao da je potpuno druga osoba zadužena za pisanje scenarija (recimo Nici iz današnjih dana ), pa se ceo rasplet dešava nekako naglo i cela akcija nakon toga je izuzetno jednolična i monotona. Teks i Karson trče gore dole po hodnicima, Crni Tigar ih prisluškuje pa otvara neke zamke, da bi im na kraju pobegao! Potpuna suprotnost celoj epizodi, sjajnoj misteriji koju je Nici gradio dve trečine priče o sekti i njihovom enigmatičnom i zastrašujućem vođi, majstoru laži i okrutnosti. Šteta što se epizoda ovako završila inače bi definitivno bila možda i najinteresantniji rad na Teksu; no i ovako meni spada među najdraže Teksove koje sam pročitao i sasvim je jasno zašto je u pitanju jedna kultna priča! Jedva čekam da pročitam nastavak, u čitanju ove priče sam izuzetno uživao i verujem da ću joj se nekad vratiti u budućnosti.
