For most of 2016, the KRG's ruling KDP has prevented broken and traumatized Yazidis from returning home and rebuilding their lives.
This has been accomplished through an illegal economic blockade preventing Yazidis from bringing basic goods into Sinjar.
By controlling all routes to Sinjar via Mosul, IS handed the KDP the advantage of controlling all Iraqi access to liberated Sinjar.
At just a single checkpoint between Dohuk & Sinjar, KDP asa’ish can block goods, organizations, and researchers from entering the area.
Most detrimental is the systematic but unannounced policy to inhibit Yazidi civilians from leaving the camps and returning home.
Denying Yazidi families the human right to bring basic livelihood goods to their homes effectively keeps them imprisoned in the camps.
The north side of Sinjar (8 sizable towns and over 30 tiny villages) has been completely free of the IS presence since December 2014.
In general, Yazidis in the camps would prefer to return and rebuild the area, having already lived in camps for nearly 2 ½ years.
Yazidi thousands have already returned to Sinjar but are now impoverished by the blockade—thousands more are prevented from returning.
Farm & irrigation equipment, livestock, veterinary medicine, retail stock, bulk food items, rebuilding materials—all are denied entry.

Sadly, the KDP’s reason for this inhumane tactic is their political competition with their Kurdish rival, the PKK.
Sinjar is a disputed territory that still belongs to Baghdad—not the Kurdistan Regional Government.
When Saddam fell, the KDP strategized to achieve control in Sinjar, eventually gaining hegemony.
The KDP suppressed any democratic opposition in Sinjar through arbitrary arrests and intimidation of Yazidis forming political parties.
To this day, the “mayor” (qaymaqam) of Sinjar—including the current one who visited Washington—is unelected, being appointed by the KDP.
The KDP has never allowed an environment of political pluralism to develop within Sinjar.
The KDP retained their hegemony over Sinjar until August 2014, when the KDP Peshmerga abandoned the Yazidis at the moment of genocide.
This was not a “collapse of the front line” as KDP officials parrot, but a systematic, organized withdrawal ahead of the IS advance.
The advent of measured support for the PKK is the product of YPG's rescue of the abandoned Yazidis & saving scores of thousands of lives
It would be unfortunate if the PKK replaced KDP hegemony and became a new hegemon in Sinjar; preferable would be Yazidi self-governance and the fostered development of new, democratic institutions and political structures This is achievable with proper international support and accountability.)
Nevertheless, Yazidis have the right to choose their own political affections—it is a violation of their rights to oppress them for this
Despite what KDP officials say, most PKK-loyal forces in Sinjar are local Yazidis of the YBŞ force—not foreign fighters.
The KRG blockade is designed to starve them and their families of basic livelihood goods, in order to weaken #YBŞ support in Sinjar.
Yazidis in Dohuk camps are frequently arrested & persecuted by KDP asa’ish if they express loyalty for the YBŞ or other KDP competitors
The HRW report relates how aid groups are prevented from bringing aid to Sinjar while KDP-affiliated charities are given sanction.
The HRW report cites a KRG official claiming the blockade is designed to prevent the looting of Yazidi homes in Sinjar.
The official fails to mention that KDP Peshmerga were often the culprits of looting—this was witnessed firsthand by a FP journalist.
I also had conversations with mukhtars in Sinjar who assessed intact village infrastructure after the liberation of the north side in Dec 2014, and who then saw it looted by Peshmerga.
HRW report confirms that KDP asa’ish even prevent KRG-affiliated groups belonging to their PUK competitor from bringing aid to Sinjar.
The KDP should not pretend that it has some inalienable right to control Sinjar, after abandonding the Yazidis.
KDP needs to count its political losses & recognize that Yazidis are human beings and free agents w/the right to choose their leadership.
KDP political losses DO NOT justify an economic blockade violating the human rights of genocide survivors.
It’s time for the KDP to recognize that they cannot force a people to love them, move on, and focus on their problems in the KRI.
The KDP regularly champion Turkey’s interests at the expense of their own countrymen—their victimization of Yazidis is without excuse.
It is criminal to deny Yazidis entry to their homeland—for political reasons—after they have weathered genocide.
Rather than helping Yazidis heal and rebuild, KDP policy is helping further the shameful victimization that IS began.

A svi vidjeniji zapadni lideri sto su pretli-Asad must go!vise manje su zavrsili svoje politicke kariere.

Alepo je izgleda pao, džihadisti sa Rusima dogovorili predaju većeg dijela preostalog džepa koji drže džihadisti. Oni najumjereniji i najdemokratskije orijentisani će ostati okruženi u 3 četvrti. To su vjerovatno oni koji se boje odmazde jer su najviše promovisali demokratiju 12-godišnjim dječacima, te Čečeni i ostala bratija.

If there is an agreement btw Russia & Turkey in north Syria we will soon see if the latter will launch frontal assault to capture al-Bab since many claim (mostly frustrated Kurds) that the 'handover' of Aleppo was in return for allowing ES to capture al-Bab & fight SDF.

Koliko je meni poznato ne. Mislis na ovaj međunarodni na obronku grada? Do danas je ionako bio preblizu samog bojista.
Sve sto leti iznad Aleppa dolazi iz podrucja Latakije, barem koliko je meni poznato.
Pitanje je zasto do danas nisu pripremili vojni aerodrom Kweires na istoku. Pri oslobođenju se sjecam da je bilo receno kako je sve vise manje unisteno i da aerodrom nisu u stanju koristiti, ali do danas je preslo vec ohoho vremena. Ili barem bi za helikoptere bilo blize.
Ovih dana je pao jedan zrakoplov (nije bio Mig ili Su) izmedju citadele i tadasnjeg dzepa istocno od nje, oba pilota umrla.

| Vjerovatno ne žele rizikovati dodatne sankcije kojima je Zapad prijetio prije mjesec i po - dva. Izgleda da im i ne treba avijacija za Alepo, ovo zaista munjevitom brzinom ide, događaji sustižu jedni druge. |
