NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured an amazing view of a distant starbirth factory, a nebula known as the "Monkey Head," to help celebrate the upcoming 24th anniversary of the iconic instrument's launch. |

Ghost of the Cepheus Flare
Spooky shapes seem to haunt this starry expanse, drifting through the night in the royal constellation Cepheus. Of course, the shapes are cosmic dust clouds faintly visible in dimly reflected starlight. Far from your own neighborhood on planet Earth, they lurk at the edge of the Cepheus Flare molecular cloud complex some 1,200 light-years away. Over 2 light-years across the ghostly nebula known as vdB 141 or Sh2-136 is near the center of the field. The core of the dark cloud on the right is collapsing and is likely a binary star system in the early stages of formation. |

Ne morate znati odgovore u kvizu ali je zanimljiv pogled na gradove iz svemira, u noci.
From space, even your own city can look foreign. Can you identify these 16 cities from the lights they emit?
http://nautil.us/blog/can-you-identify-these-cities-from-their-light-signatures
The light that a city emits is like its glowing fingerprint. From the orderly grid of Manhattan, to the sprawling, snaking streets of Milan, to the bright contrast of Kuwait’s ring-roads, each city leaves its own pattern of tiny glowing dots. See if you can ID these cities based on the way they shine. |

April 12, 1961 year the 8.67 Moscow time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome launched spaceship "Vostok-1". It was the first human flight into space. 108 minutes around the Earth took flight, the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. He made a fairy tale come true! Happy space friends!

U utorak potpuna pomrčina Mjeseca
Ukoliko vremenske prilike to budu dopuštale, dio Zemljana moći će vidjeti potpunu pomrčinu Mjeseca, prilikom koje će Mjesec poprimiti crvenu boju.

The dust on the surfaces of small asteroids is a result of extreme temperature shifts between periods of sunlight and darkness — a cycle of drastic changes that break up space rocks over time, scientists say.
Asteroids rotate like the Earth does, creating temperature fluctuations as their sides change from day to night, the researchers explained in a new study. On the smaller surfaces, these changes can be sufficient to crack and break apart the outer edges of the rocky bodies.
"As asteroids do not have an atmosphere — which, on the Earth, mitigates the temperature difference between day and night — the temperature shocks can be very strong," said Marco Delbo of the Côte d'Azur Observatory in France. |

Big Bang Theory: 5 Weird Facts About Seeing the Universe's Birth
Starting With a Bang
It has been 50 years since two scientists found landmark evidence for the Big Bang theory. Here are some little-known facts about the Big Bang theory and its champions.
Robert Wilson and Arno Penzias were using a large horn antenna at Bell Labs in New Jersey to gaze into the Milky Way. What they found, however, let them peer back 378,000 years after the Big Bang. The two scientists eventually found a cosmic fog that permeates the universe in every direction. Called the cosmic microwave background, it is a signature of the Big Bang that formed just after the universe began 13.8 billion years ago. [The Universe: From the Big Bang to Now in 10 Easy Steps]
But understanding what they found in 1964 was no easy task. Here are five odd facts you probably didn't know about the Big Bang theory and those who discovered it.
