Another favorite song by Cream, and their last major hit, appearing on their Goodbye album released in February 1969. The single was released a month later in the US and in April in the UK. This track became especially famous because it was co-written by George Harrison, and one can hear his rhythm guitar riff during the bridge prior to Clapton's solo. In fact the title, "Badge," was a misreading of Harrison's note for the very same "bridge." Lyrically it moves from the ominous to the absurd to the quite sad, so don't expect too much rationality in the video. "Badge" peaked at #18 on the UK singles chart and managed to make it to #60 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #69 on Cash Box on August 12, 1969 (CB date). But it was as an FM radio hit that it did quite well in the US for that listening audience.
