Ovaj put nemam snage da pišem o značaju ličnosti, budući da sam se za danas već ispisao , pa ću se osloniti na to da većina ljudi ovde bar zna za njegovu verziju Konana? U svakom slučaju, ovaj veliki crtač i slikar zaslužuje svoju temu odavno.

Ali konkretan razlog za ovu temu je sledeći. Ove nedelje treba da izađe časopis od TwoMorrows, Comic Book Creator #25, sa temom Barry Windsor-Smith! Intervju i pre svega fokus na njegov novi strip, Monsters, a dobijamo i pogled na njegov nacrt za priču koji je ponudio Marvelovim urednicima 1984.

Alan: No, this was when I was 14. This was the only time I ever met or spoke to Barry.

Meni se uvijek činilo da BWS mlađi, a on rođen 1949 godine.

Je li ovo crtež o kojem govore?

Smith je tokom dobrog dela 1970-ih bio član umetničkog kolektiva The Studio, i on je vršnjak Wrightsona i Kalute. Postoji knjiga o njima, zove se - ko bi rek'o? - The Studio, i predstavlja radove sve četvorice do tog trenutka (1979. ili tako nešto). Drugari, koja je razlika u izdanjima stripa Monsters koje su radili Fantagraphics i Jonathan Cape? Vidim većina je nabavljala Fantino izdanje, iako je drugo izdanje cenovno pristupačnije.

Mislim da ne bi trebalo biti razlike, ista knjiga samo za UK tržište, ali ne mogu ti potvrditi iz prve ruke (nemam oba izdanja pa da usporedim papir, kvalitetu tiska ili uveza). Ja sam uzeo Fantino izdanje, jer trgovina gdje kupujem prodaje uglavnom američka izdanja (ni nemaju tu UK verziju).

Koliko vidim kod Fantinog izdanja je crna crna, dok je kod Cape-a za mrvicu svetlije.

Najavio Makondo još davnijeh dana, ali iskreno nemam ja više živaca da ih čekam, a i njihovo izdanje će verovatno biti na onom sjajnom papiru što mi je bezveze.

Dok me još drže Čudovišta, obnavljao gradivo i iščitao ponovo Wolverine: Weapon X. Bukvalno nema nijedne loše stranice, bio i ostao odličan strip.
