George Young preminuo je u 71 godini. Iako je bio poznat po mnogim hitovima i sviranjem u raznim bendovima, ono sto ga cini velikim je, da je on stariji brat Angusu i Malcolmu Youngu, gitaristima vjecnih i neponovljih AC/DC. Ono sto se malo zna, jest da je on bio covjek iz sjene AC/DC-ima. Napisao im masu pjesama, producirao ih, dao im podrsku i usmjerio ih stazama slave. Kako su sami clanovi rekli, bez njega ne bi bilo benda, "on nas je upravio".
