Travanj 1997. Maksimir. Pressica repke koja se priprema za gostovanje u Grčkoj za tekmu koju mora dobiti da bi ostala u igri za plasman na SP u Francuskoj. Svi napeti, ja 20-godišnji klinac koji je niti tri mjeseca počeo raditi dolazim s mikrofonom i postavljam ga pred Ćiru, a on će meni:
'Sine, kad završi pressica, onda ću ti dati intervju'.
Ja ga pogledam u čudu i kažem:
'Ma ne treba. Dovoljno će biti da snimim press'.
I mislim si: Čovjeće za manje od dva dana imaš tako važnu utakmicu, a odvojio bi 10-ak minuta vremena za razgovor s nekim klincem kojega nikada prije nisi vidio.
Legenda. Uvijek je bio susretljiv, imao vremena za dati izjavu bilo kome, a sve što bi rekao bilo je zanimljivo.

Počivao u miru.
