The Blues Magoos - (We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet (1966-67), Revised
MUNROWS RETRO
Perhaps one of the giants of the early psychedelic hits, for some years my only video contribution for this song until now was an old slideshow I did originally back in 2012. Finally, it has been given the sort of treatment I have done for other such rock classics. "(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet," a song by the American rock band Blues Magoos, and released in October 1966, became a chart hit in the United States in February 1967. It peaked at Billboard at #5 on February 11, 1967 and at #6 on Cash Box on February 18, 1967.

This concert at the "carussel of the youth" from 1970 is the earliest existing concert video of these electronic pioneers. The band was just created this year and could be seen in the original setup.

Electric Hellfire Club - Sympathy For The Devil (1997) HQ
MUNROWS RETRO
From the May 1997 compilation CD, Vampire Themes, this is "Sympathy For The Devil" by Electric Hellfire Club. The Guns n' Roses version of the Rolling Stones song appeared at the end of the film, Interview With the Vampire, thus this is a cover of that closing theme. Electric Hellfire Club hails from Kenosha, Wisconsin and was founded by Thomas Thorn from the industrial/techno metal band, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. I like this cover by EHC about as much as I do the original Rolling Stones version. I already have had one Rolling Stones video recently blocked worldwide, so I'm not going to risk doing another Stones track. This cover is a minute shorter but packs a powerful punch without resorting to a lengthy fadeout. Anyways, Halloween 'tis the season to be evil ... and the (mostly) Mick Jagger lyrics are merciless ... so please be prepared!
