"Touch And Go" was a smash summer hit in 1980 for one of the first new wave bands, The Cars, off their third album Panorama. This may have been the LP least well-received by rock critics, but the hit track alone was worth the price. This song features one of the zaniest, rockabilly lead guitar solos ever and always made me wish I was in a carnival or an amusement park for some reason. Perfect for thrill rides of all kinds, in and out of the park. The Cars became equally famous for some of the zaniest music videos ever made once MTV was accessible on every cable-ready television set. This music video attempts to replicate that same spirit of the zany as well as to various kinds of retro.
"Touch And Go" was released as a single in August 1980, reaching #37 on Billboard and #38 on Cash Box on October 18, 1980.
