The Doors - Light My Fire (1967) HQ
MUNROWS RETRO
The seminal rock classic by The Doors that shaped the late 60's sound. Recorded in August 1966, "Light My Fire" was released on the band's first album simply entitled "The Doors" the first week of January 1967. The edited version of the song entered US charts at #99 on May 27, 1967 reaching #1 on August 5, 1967. Other members of the Top Ten that week included "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles, "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Franki Valli, "Windy" by The Association, "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" by Procol Harum, "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane, and "Carrie-Anne" by The Hollies. One hell of a Kodak week in one of the most legendary of summers, if you can remember it! I certainly can.
This version of "Light My Fire" is the full length album track. It has been synchronized to a live 1967 television performance of the edited track, along with additional footage from a rare 1967 NBC television music video of the song. Enjoy this treat: it's all Doors and all various footage from 1967. The less said and the more seen the better!

The Evolution of the Victoria’s Secret Catalog
The not so naughty mail you loved having delivered is no more. Victoria’s Secret announced they will no longer produce their iconic catalog after nearly three decades. So it’s only right we take a look back at the evolution of the lingerie mogul with 40 lasting images from its humble start in 1977 until today.
In the Beginning
Roy Raymond wanted a place to buy lingerie for his wife without being embarrassed so he started with mail order lingerie. Accessible fashion for everyone!
Easy Style
These models take life easy in their pink satin night sets. But we need to know, what’s with the awkward lounging?
Three’s a Crowd
Early issues tended to focus on group shots with the ladies all modeling similar styles of lingerie and the same far away gaze.
You Looking at Me?
Apparently the 70’s were a time for side eye and downward glances while you chill in your negligee.
Fuller Figures
Despite the popular waif look of the 1970’s, the catalog still featured the occasional fuller figure model. Gorgeous at any size!
Use of Props
We’ve gotten used to the fanciful props in Victoria’s Secret runway shows, but perhaps it started here in the 1970’s. Loving the tiny cups, fluffy shoes and library book…
Conservative and Alluring
This traditional yet romantic gown leaves it all up to the imagination…
Sultry Silks
Compared to today’s provocative styles these ladies look rather demure in their tinted satin camisoles.
Sleek and Sophisticated
In keeping with the shops upscale and British inspired designs, these models make prim and proper look good!
Censorship Woes
By today’s standard the term “Hanky Panky” is pretty tame, but we’re sure it was pushing some boundaries back in the day.
Big Hair and Barely There Fashion
These models rock the 1980’s volume rich hair and dramatic purple eye shadow!
1980’s Accessories
I’ll admit the satin headbands on these models are appealing in their own odd way…
Got Milk?
Before that tagline blew up in pop culture, this Victoria’s Secret Model was sporting a tall cool glass of the calcium-rich beverage and a pastel bikini to match.
Men Make An Appearance
The mid 80s brought men into the catalog, reminding buyers lingerie isn’t necessarily just for women.
Pushing Boundaries
The cover of the 1986 catalog took seduction to the edge for its time. This couple has a steamy connection to match their hot bathing apparel.
Vintage Inspired Looks
This late 80’s model has the blonde locks, classic beauty and apple cheeks that remind us of Marilyn Monroe.
Diversity Makes an Appearance
Keeping up with the times, the catalog introduces a more diverse look.
Softer Styles
The angular look of the 1980’s falls to the side in favor of the soft and seductive styles below.
Introducing the Angels
The now infamous Victoria’s Secret Angels are introduced in the 1990’s making our dreams come true!
Wind Swept Styles
She woke up this way for sure.
Famous Starts
The 1990’s saw the rise of a few stars from their start between the pages of the catalog. Famke Janssen modeled and then went on to star in the X-Men film series and James Bond.
We Salute The Flag
Apparently 1994 was a very patriotic year for swim wear. No complaints here.
Lounge Wear
Active wear and lounge wear become a thing in the 90’s. Those leggings are still hip today!
Metallica For The Win
Tyra Banks maintains her status as a modeling pro in this stunning cover from 1997.
White Nights
The easy style and beauty of this catalog model is alluring without being vulgar.
Famous Faces
Claudia Schiffer made the 1996 Christmas special a success!
New Look
The catalog got a makeover for the new millennium.
Keeping it Casual
This summer cover reminds us that Victoria’s Secret offers looks that are relaxing and leave just enough to the imagination to excite us.
New Models Take Over
Adriana Lima became a mega model for the catalog in 2000, and one of their signature angels.
Mysterious Woman
Australian model Kelly Gale has the global look that entices! Her Indian Mother and Swedish Father must be so proud.
Hello Heidi
Everyone knows Heidi Klum today, this stunner was a very popular model in her time to be sure.
Diamond Encrusted
Tyra Banks appears again in a catalog from the mid 2000’s in all her glittery, diamond encrusted glory.
Modern Swim Wear
The company focused on swimwear for a time and sent models to exotic locales to showcase their beautiful wares.
Ms. Brazil
Gisele Bundchen was another mega star who graced countless Victoria’s Secret pages.
Downsizing the Catalog
Near the end of the catalog’s life span, Victoria’s Secret managers decided to stop focusing on accessories and shoes and re-assert their dominance in the lingerie market.
An End Of An Era
Bye Bye Swim Wear! 2015 also marked the end of Victoria’s Secret swim wear. Too bad if you ask us….
Active Wear
Active Wear by Victoria’s Secret takes the main stage.
Online Catalog Takes The Fore Front
Multi Media advertising is the wave of the future!
Victoria’s Secret
The runway show is now one of the main televised events of the year.
Online Sales
Replacing the catalog with online orders will make it way easier to get your steamy deliveries in time!
